TStv to roll out November 1, offers 5,000 decoders for free
TStv, Telecom Satellite Television, has announced that it would commence commercial roll-out of its decoders to Nigerians by November 1, 2017.TStv Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Bright Echefu, made the disclosureat the company’s head office in Abuja.He said from Monday, 5,000 decoders would be given to customers for free in selected states and the nation’s capital.Echefu added that the decoders would also be installed for free to enable them test the strong signal and services of the new pay TV.He explained that the delay in the commercial deployment of decoders to customers was to prevent sabotage by unscrupulous elements who would want to frustrate the company.His words: “We have not commenced commercial sales of our decoders because weare aware of the fact that we are running a business easily frustrated by competition.“We had applications from over 3,000 individuals who want to be our dealers, so far we have cleared about 750 of the dealers.”We are currently conducting due diligence checks. Board arrests 18 young girls allegedly involved in prostitution
Kano State Hisbah Board on Friday said it hadarrested eight young girls allegedly involved in prostitution in the city.The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that prostitution is banned under Sharia law in Kano State.Malam Nasiru Isa, the board’s Assistant Commander-General, Operations, told NAN in Kano that the suspects were apprehended on Thursday evening at Rijiyar Zaki bus-stop during a special patrol.“All the suspects are females of between the age of 22 and 23,” he said, adding that the arrest followed a tip off.According to him, the eight girls live in an uncompleted building at the bus-stop which they allegedly turn into to a brothel.“Our men went there around 5:00 p.m. on Thursday evening and arrested eight suspects at the Bus stop,” the official said, stressing that they would be properly screened and taken to court.The official noted that most of the suspects were from broken homes and called on parents to ensure proper upbringing of their children to enable them grow up as responsible citizens.He also advised youths in the state to shun all forms of immorality, be God fearing and strive to live a worthy life.

The Vice Chancellor of MOUAU - Prof. Francis Ogbonnaya Otunta and the management of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike has made a N4,000 reduction in the charges payable by old students of the Great Citadel - MOUAU.
Officials of the Students' Union Government, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike met with the University Management today at the VC's conference Room. The Union led by Hon. Comr. Ononiwu Precious solicited to the management on behalf of Nigerian Students for a reduction in charges payable by students considering economic situation.
Our amiable Vice Chancellor - Prof. Francis Otunta together with the University Management who has students' at heart, haven considered economic situation and other matters arising approved a reduction of N4,000 from 2016/2017 charges for 2017/2018 Session.
The Students' Union Government led by Hon. Comr. Ononiwu Precious wishes to inform Great Nigerian Students of MOUAU that our School Fees has been reduced by 4,000.

Eligibility: All candidates who applied to Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike for the Direct entry admission are eligible.
Requirements: Beginning from Wednesday 18th October 2017 and closing midnight on Friday 27th October 2017 candidates are required to register online for the Direct Entry Admission screening.
To register, candidates must proceed as follows:
1. Candidates are to visit the University Website at www.mouau.edu.ng
2. Click on the 2017/2018 Direct Entry Admission Screening Banner
3. Enter a valid email address for record purposes
4. Input JAMB Registration number. This leads you to the Remita payment platform where an RRR number is generated with which payment of N2000.00 will be made. Payment can be done by debit/credit card or by taking your RRR number to any bank nationwide and depositing cash.
5. Return to the site to continue registration.
6. Note: transaction charges apply
7. P.S: If you encounter any challenges after payments, kindly contact the University Portal Office.
8. Register by filling an online Application form and selecting proposed Department and other requisite details.
