Greatest Nigerian students!!!
It is with great joy and humility that I stand before great and esteemed Nigerian Students, dignitaries, intellectuals, erudite scholars, and great giants, on this auspicious day of my inauguration as the President, Student Union Government, MOUAU. It is indeed a historic moment and a great honour to pilot the affairs of the entire MOUAU students. I want to assure you that my administration will be an open administration where true democracy will take over egocentrism and self-centeredness, because I believe it is time to rewrite the history of unionism in MOUAU which student have fundamentally lost faith in.
On behalf of the entire student of this great citadel of learning, i want to use this opportunity to appreciate the University Management under the leadership of our ebullient and amiable Vice Chancellor Prof. Francis Ogbonnaya Otunta who allowed the students to exercise their franchise and allowing their votes to count.
I also want to thank in a special way the Dean Student Affairs, Prof. Uchenna Okolie, a great woman, a woman of substance, for being able to withstand the negative pressures that arose during the election period and for also ensuring a free, fair, credible and democratical students election, you are indeed filled with strength, vigour, valour, efficacy, potency, prowess, intrepidity, heroism, adroitness and dexterity.
To my fellow universally competent MOUAU students, who out of a long for Pro-Student Union, on the 31st day of June, 2017, went to the polling station despite the natural climatic occurrence to make new political bounds with the new set of leaders they believe can give our union a new and befitting image. You indeed portrayed full patriotism to this great union. You stood for hours under the rain just to cast your vote, stayed outside under the cold weather until the election result was announced on the 1st July 2017 at about 5:15am. This is indeed a historic election that lasted from 31st June 2017 to a new month 1st July.
I want to really thank you for your propitious, benevolent and altruistic support and assure you all that the leaders you chose are those who sees leadership as opportunity to register an indelible mark in the minds of Nigerian students and the university community at large. We will make sure that your good expectations from our government won’t be cut off, your general welfare won’t be jettisoned and some obnoxious policies affecting you will be bridged.
To the University Community, my administration will maintain a peaceful, serene, docile, biddable, malleable and clean environment which shall foster academic excellence and make MOUAU a PRECIOUS complex for our academic learning. With the support of the University Management, I will allicient both Governmental and Non-governmental organizations, Investors, Philanthropists etc. which shall help alleviate, allay, ameliorate, mitigate and pacify the socio-economic suffering of my fellow students.
Our amiable Vice Chancellor Sir, with your one year in office, our optical cavity have seen your act of good governance and our buccal cavity can’t really express how joyous we are on your effort to harmonize and sanitize every sector of the university. You provided for the first time full identification for the students, academic and non academic for proper identification.
I, with the mandate of my fellow Nigerian students’ humble request for the following;
I)Completion of the school conveniences situated at strategic points around the school environment.
2)Restoring indigent work among students.
3)Assessment of free Wi-Fi network to all students.
4)Renovating the dilapidating, tatterdemalion, ramshackle and bedraggled state of our lecture halls and hostels.
5)Fixing up the campus street light which serves a security for students and covering some dangerous potholes along our walkways.
6)Providing direct route for students travelling back home and coming back to school with the new ultra modern park to ease stress encountered by students.
7)Ensuring affordable tuition and accommodation fees.
8)Provision of speed breakers within and outside the school so as to regulate the velocity of reckless driving and avert the death of our students.
9)Putting the intra-campus shuttle back on track.
10)Stabilizing power and water supply.
To our dedicated lecturers, do well to complete your syllables prior to lecture free week as no academic activities will take place during this period. This is to enable the student have enough time to read and prepare for their exams in as to reduce the rate at which students fail their exams. Please do well to desist from any form of extortion in the name of placing textbooks as criteria to pass a course, lobbying by students etc. our administration will ensure we expose such indolent act and stringent measures will be taken.
Finally; my fellow Umudyke
“Behold your New President
Mr. President, Behold your fellow Nigerian Students”
Let us support this great more and make MOUAU PRECIOUS, with you, we can make MOUAU PRECIOUS.
